How to Treat Powdery Mildew

  4. Organic Solutions: Neem oil, baking soda solutions, and sulfur-based treatments are examples of organic remedies that can help control powdery mildew. These options are generally safer for the environment and can be effective when used correctly.

To make a baking soda solution, The Spruce recommends mixing the following ingredients in a spray bottle to use as a baking soda spray to eradicate powdery mildew on plants: 1 gallon of water, 1/2 teaspoon liquid non-detergent soap, and 1 tablespoon baking soda. Coat the damaged plant evenly, making sure to get beneath the leaves and stems. Although this formula works well, too much of it might burn the leaves. Water plants well a few days before applying, avoid applying it in direct sunlight, and test it on a small area to see how the plant responds. Spray once a week, and after rain, reapply.
