Homemade Fungicide Recipe for Beautiful Roses

Rose Fungicide

Roses can be tricky to grow and care for, and one of the most common issues is fungal disease. Homemade remedies can be a great way to save some money and it is better for the environment. To make a homemade fungicide for roses, you can try using a few different ingredients that have antifungal properties. Here's a simple recipe you can use:

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (such as neem oil or canola oil)
  • 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap (preferably mild and non-toxic)
  • 1 gallon (4 liters) of water

Instructions:

  1. In a large container, combine the baking soda and vegetable oil.
  2. Add the liquid dish soap to the mixture and stir well.
  3. Fill the container with a gallon of water, and mix everything thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the solution to a spray bottle or a garden sprayer.

Application:

  1. Before applying the fungicide, make sure to water your rose plants thoroughly at their base.
  2. Spray the homemade fungicide solution evenly onto the leaves, stems, and flowers of the rose plants. Be sure to cover both the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves.
  3. Apply the fungicide on a cool, dry day, preferably in the morning or evening, to minimize the risk of leaf burn from the baking soda.
  4. Reapply the fungicide every 7 to 10 days, or after rainfall, to maintain its effectiveness.

Note: It's always a good idea to test the homemade fungicide on a small portion of your rose plant first to check for any adverse reactions before applying it to the entire plant. Additionally, remember to wear protective clothing, such as gloves and goggles, while preparing and applying the fungicide.
